Challico starts the season on a winning note.

What a tremendous start to the season at Exeter!!

Challico winnerChallico (pictured)  has started the new National Hunt Season off with bang when he recorded a superb victory on his debut in a bumper at Exeter where he received a brilliant ride from Ian Popham to score. Challico was making his debut against rivals who had previous experience so it was particularly pleasing to see him win the race and he finished the race strongly and was well on top at the finish.

It was a wonderful evening at Exeter with Challico’s owner Mrs Tincknell being on hand to watch her exciting prospect make a winning debut and collect the trophy after the race. Challico is a Half-Brother to the very exciting Blu Cavalier so it was wonderful to continue the families winning trait here. Challico is now going to have a short break before heading over hurdles where I am sure there are more wins to come from him.

It is not only Challico who has started the season well as Honorable Exit also ran with credit to finish second at Newton Abbot in a competitive big field handicap. Rhys Flint rode a patient race on Honorable Exit and he was only narrowly beaten and after the race Rhys was very positive in his feedback so hopefully the horse will get his head in front shortly. He has schooled over fences so it is another option that is open to him.

There are still places available in the West Buckland Racing Club; it has been a tremendous season to be a member of the club with Helium and Slidecheck both recording Hat Trick’s of wins. There is likely to be more success over the summer months with Slidecheck remaining and integral part of the team as well as Guaracha who has won both over hurdles and fences this season. He is sure to continue running well through the summer.

Black Narc and RCO field

After a successful winter Black Narcissus has now been turned out and is enjoying her summer holidays. She was an amazing success for Team Dunn winning three times and providing the syndicate members with some great days at the races and several glasses of champagne.  Black Narcissus is pictured here enjoying her summer holidays with Red Con One, a new and exciting purchase.

Looking ahead to the summer there are several horses in the yard ready to run rough the summer months with Trapper Peak, Royal Chief and Honorable Exit all set to continue through the summer and there have also been four new and exciting prospects purchased at the sales recently too. There is more information on these horses on the For Sale page.
