Helium runs well at Sandown and other news.

helium sandown 3rd paddHelium (pictured here looking superb in the paddock) has been a superstar this season and still remains in the form of his life aged 11. He ran another superb race at Sandown when third at the track on a big Saturday meeting. I was very impressed with the ride Leighton Aspell gave Helium and the pair got on well and Helium enjoyed the experience and ran another fantastic race to finish an honorable third. He gave the members of the West Buckland Racing Club a fantastic afternoon out at Sandown. Helium came out of the race in fine form afterwards and I will be looking for another suitable opportunity for him in the next few weeks.

The West Buckland Racing Club had a lovely afternoon at Sandown when Helium finished third; they had an ever better day at Bangor on Wednesday when Slidecheck won by eight lengths under Adam Wedge. Adam gave Slidecheck a very confident ride and he drew clear impressively up the home straight to win. Slidecheck has been a lovely horse since he was purchased at the sales and he has gained Prize Money in every one of his completed starts. The handicapper did not over react to his smooth success either raising him 7lb’s to a mark of 98. Slidecheck will be entered up over the Easter period in another 0-100 chase or hurdle in the hope of continuing the fine run of form for the West Buckland Racing Club.

The West Buckland Racing Club have a fantastic record this season with both Helium and Slidecheck doing them proud; the good news is there are still a small number of places left in the West Buckland Racing Club.

Details on the fine record they have are here by clicking the link.

And details of how to join and further information on our successful racing club can be found here.

Looking ahead to the coming week I have Guaracha entered at Taunton; he is likely to take his chance there and there is also every chance he will sport some headgear as I think that will help get the best out of him. He will be reverting to fences at Taunton but that won’t be a worry as he jumps very well. Guaracha is a fun horse who will be more than capable of winning races and is currently For Sale to stay in the yard. Anyone who is interested in buying him whole or even a share should contact me via E-Mail: alex@alexandradunnracing.com or ring the office on 01823 660882.

More news to follow to West Buckland later in the week.

Alex.
