Competitive week with horses continuing to run well

We had a busy week last week with several runners due to take their chances in various races throughout the week.
IstimraarOur week started on the flat at Chepstow with Istimraar taking his chance. Despite the Bank Holiday traffic proving challenging Istimraar arrived at Chepstow in plenty of time and ran a race full of promise to finish third beaten less than three lengths. I was pleased with the way Istimraar (pictured here) finished his race off and I am hopeful he will have a fruitful time of things in he coming months. I would expect him to be back out on the track shortly and he is for sale to stay in the yard and more information is available on the For Sale Page.

Tuesday saw the Horsebox hit the M5 again with Le Legro heading to Worcester to make his stable debut in the handicap hurdle under Richie Mc Lernon. Le Legro travelled well through the race and went onto finish a fine second to an easy winner. I was impressed with the attitude Le Legro displayed and I am sure he can continue to gain Prize Money and there is every chance he can get his head in front soon too. Le Legro has plenty of options which include possibly jumping fences or finding a similar handicap hurdle for his next start.
.
Wednesday we reverted to the flat where Miss Minuty was taking her chance in a competitive handicap at Bath with George Wood taking the ride. Miss Minuty was the third horse in three days from the yard to perform well on the track and she was just pipped in the line loosing out by a neck. Miss Minuty has a wonderful attitude and I was always confident she could run well despite the fact he race looked competitive on paper. She handles Bath very well and has done her owner Jennifer Dorey proud and hopefully there is another suitable race coming up soon for her as she is in very good form.
.
Trapper Peak was next to take his chance at Stratford on Saturday afternoon with Ciaran Gethings taking the ride. Trapper Peak travelled through the race very well and was only caught close home; I was pleased with this run as it was a return to form and if he can reproduce that effort next time out I am sure he will be more than capable of gaining more Prize Money for his owner David Gilbert who has already had a successful summer with the horse who scored at Southwell over fences.
.
Following on from our busy week Fine Resolve took his chance for the West Buckland Racing Club at Worcester on Tuesday. Rob Hawker took the mount and gave him as lovely ride in this hands and heels race to finish fourth. This as an improvement on his recent runs and I am sure there is still more improvement to come from him and he will continue to pay his way and give the West Buckland Racing Club members some excellent days out at the races.
.
As well as having a runner at Worcester on Tuesday I attended the sales at Doncaster and purchased two smashing horses, Kublai and Tsundoku. There will be more information on the website on these new exciting recruits shortly.
.
I have made plenty of entries for the upcoming week with Miss Minuty, Istimraar, Winged Express, Wyndcrest and new comer to the yard Maid of Tuscany all entered. Fingers crossed for another series of good runs from these horses in their respective races.
