The West Buckland Racing Club has been formed for a year now and Definite Ridge gave the club yet another winner with a gutsy success at Cartmel under a super ride from Richie Mc Lernon. Definite Ridge made a promising stable debut at Newton Abbot when fourth over fences and the track at Cartmel suited him really well and he stayed on to score a shade comfortably. It was good to get a win from a horse who we purchased just over a month ago at the sales and he is one of several horses for sale to stay in the yard. I am hopeful there is more improvement in Definite Ridge and he will be given a couple of entries over the coming weeks over fences and over hurdles, where he has a lower mark.
Definite Ridge was not the only horse to run a superb race this week at Wyndcrest was a superb third at Stratford on Sunday once again ridden by Richie Mc Lernon. Wyndcrest ran well on his stable debut at Market Rasen before he made a mistake at a crucial moment and finished fifth. His jumping was perfect at Stratford and he ran well to finish third, the two horses that beat him were both rated over 100 so I would be hopeful Wyndcrest will be able to make a visit to the winners enclosure when returning to 0-100 grade. He has entries at Worcester and Stratford this coming week.
Much like Definite Ridge Wyndcrest was recently purchased at the sales and has already gained prize money and I feel there is plenty more improvement in him. He is for sale to stay in the yard and more information on both him and Definite Ridge on the For Sale page.
Our thanks to Jackie Kingdom Photography for the picture of Definite Ridge winning at Cartmel.
