Weekly Update

ZV schooling none the worse for fontZero Visibility was obviously going to win at Fontwell but for falling at the final fence last Monday. The horse thankfully has come out of the race fine and was schooled well during the week and is pictured here.

All my runners have come out of their races well after last week and I was particularly pleased with the run of Royal Chief, who is owned by ‘The Game Birds” he finished a creditable second at Taunton last week. The ground at Taunton was not as testing as at Exeter in his last two starts and that was a help; I am not sure where he will run next but it is likely he may have a break now as the likelihood is he won’t get his preferred ground again through the winter. His owners had a fantastic day at the races and it gives me great pleasure when the horses are running well and seeing owners enjoying watching their horses running.

The horses are running very well at the moment and long may it continue but it is very much a team operation here and I must say I have excellent staff and together we are able to get the most out of every horse trained here at West Buckland. We are busy planning the staff Christmas Party which is scheduled for December the 23rd.

Blu Cav

It has been a busy week on the schooling ground this week and recent bumper winner Blu Cavalier(pictured) and Beau Knight have been doing plenty of schooling. I have pencilled in a Novice Hurdle at Taunton on December 30th for Blu Cavalier as his next start.

Chasing Fairies School

Chasing Fairies (pictured) who is a lovely homebred mare has also been schooling over obstacles at home.  She is by Fair Mix and is a half brother to Chase The Spud who is a very talented horse; she has pleased me with everything she has been asked so far at home and I am looking forward to her making her debut.

Slidecheck + WillSlidecheck is another horse who has yet to run for me; he is a horse I purchased at the sales with the specific aim to run for he West Buckland Racing Club. He finished second in a Hunter Chase on his last start and he holds an entry at Exeter this week but as of yet I am unsure whether he will take his chance. He is pictured here schooling last week under Will Gordon, the yards amateur, and I hope he can continue the fantastic run of the West Buckland Racing Club for which there are still places available for those looking for an excellent Christmas present.

This week we were on the receiving side of some luck when Goring One fell at the final fence when sure to win and Black Narcissus was the beneficiary. Racing is a funny old game and it was nice to get a win into Black Narcissus who has now won over fences and hurdles. There are still shares available in her, for more information on how to join the winning team please have a look here or email me: alex@alexandradunnracing.com

Here is a picture of some of her happy owners in the paddock pre race.

My second runner at Plumpton was Entry To Evrywhere, the horse so far this season has been a fantastic model of consistency and we are looking forward to having more fun with him.

Looking ahead to this week, Helium has three entries at Ludlow, Ascot and Haydock. The Prize Money is excellent at Ludlow and he has shown a liking for the course. He has been a great flag-bearer for the West Buckland Racing Club.

Next week we look forward to Christmas, so I take this opportunity to wishing everyone a very Happy Christmas!

Alex.
