Will Gordon who has been working with us here at West Buckland over the past season has been doing really well riding in Point To Points recently rode his first winner on Milly's Delight at Lower Machen on the 16th May. But Will wasn't going to stop there once he got the winning but he promptly rode Miss Treacle to victory a couple of weeks later. It is great for Will to be getting the rewards for all his hard work and I have seen his riding has improved throughout the season. Together with the help of Shan Farr, who trained Milly's Delight and Miss Treacle, Will has had a successful season and hopefully there is still more to come.
My Brother John Smith-Maxwell is also a regular at West Buckland and he has also had a tremendous season with wins on Jetnova and Gate Please who were both trained by my Mum. John's good season has come rewarded with Silverware, below is a picture of John receiving the West Midlands bookmakers award for up and coming novice rider, this was presented to him by top Irish Amateur Derek O'Connor. John also finished third in the National Harley Racing Novice Rider Series which is a tremendous reward for all his, and my mums hard work throughout the season.
