SPRING STEEL COMPLETES THE HAT-TRICK

S Steel

Spring Steel won the  Dean & Gill Silver Wedding Anniversary Handicap Chase scoring an impressive hat-trick, ridden by Rhys Flint. Spring Steel has won over £12,000 in Twenty Four Days and in doing so he has joined an elite band of horses here at West Buckland who have recorded a Hat Trick of wins. He joins Helium, Black Narcissus and Slidecheck as horses who have been placed to win a Hat Trick of races and hopefully the success can continue with Spring Steel as he holds further entries at Fontwell this week.

Spring Steel is owned by Nigel Berbillion who has, in the past had good success with the yard as an owner and Spring Steel has continued that trend and Nigel is a superb owner who is a pleasure to train for and he has had plenty of enjoyment with Spring Steel and hopefully Nigel’s colours will continue to enter the winners enclosure.

WyndcrestWyndcrest took his chance an hour after Spring Steel scored at Fontwell and again he ran with a massive amount of credit finishing second beaten just a length under a strong ride from Richie Mc Lernon. Wyndcrest joined the yard in July and has already been placed on three occasions gaining good Prize Money in doing so. Wyndcrest holds entries at Fontwell this week and we are certainly hopeful he can get his head in front shortly. Wyndcrest is for sale to stay in the yard and we currently have a 50% share available in him. There is more information on him on the For Sale Page.

Mike Baker with Jockey Richie Mc Lernon after Dr 4th at NaDefinite Ridge was another horse who joined the yard in July and he scored in good style at Cartmel later that month. Since then Definite Ridge has been sold to Mike Baker and Beverley Beaver and he immediately ran a creditable race at Newton Abbot when a solid fourth under Richie Mc Lernon. Richie and Mike are pictured here after the race. Definite Ridge will continue to run through the summer and on this run at Newton Abbot he is sure to continue to gain Prize Money and visit the winner’s enclosure with regularity and give his new owners Mike and Beverley some more wonderful day’s at the races.

This week we have plenty of entries. Fine Resolve, who runs for the successful West Buckland Racing Club holds an entry at Stratford this week. We hope Fine Resolve can run with credit and there are a limited number of places left in the West Buckland Racing Club. Membership of the club is available at only £50 per month and there is more information here.
